An Executive Housekeeper over- sees and controls all aspects of housekeeping operations and staff of the housekeeping department. An executive housekeeper, co-ordinates between housekeeping crews to inspect assigned areas to ensure standards are met. An executive housekeeper is flexible, pro-active, manages many priorities and demands and is able to solve problems, support staff, will step in to carry out the duties of a housekeeper when neccesary.
A Valet is usually a male servant that works as a personal assistant to their employers. They carry out duties that include running the bath, sorting out clothes, and other personal chores.They could also act as a personal assistant. They will pretty much do anything to suit their employers.
A Butler is someone that manages the household and could also act as a Valet, Waiter or Personal Assistant. In some cases they also act as a Chauffeur. They could be responsible for other domestic staff and also carry out some domestic duties. They have been trained to be discrete and carry out their duties to a very high standard.
Butlers' can be responsible for more than one household. If his duties include the supervision of other domestic staff in one or more households he is often referred to as a House Manager. He/She may be required to organise other household staff such as a Housekeeper, Cooks and Maids as well as outside gardeners, chauffeurs and maintenance staff.
